HB105, sponsored by Middleton Republican Representative Tammy Nichols, would make your vote in a presidential election void if you use an absentee ballot. She generously carves out exceptions for the disabled and military voters. Your vote would still count for state and local elections, just not as a presidential ballot. I think the janitor at the AG’s office would recognize this creation of two classes of voters as unconstitutional, so it’s probably not going very far. It’s just another example of the majority party trying to whittle away at your voting rights.
